A touch of wear to the bindings, repaired tears to a few page edges, the occasional minor blemish; a very good set.
The Mayor of Casterbridge was initially published in weekly instalments in the Graphic from January to May 1886. Several amendments were made to the plot before being published in book form on 10 May 1886 in a print run of 750 copies, of which only 650 of which were bound.
